This high pressure helps drive water molecules through the membrane pores, while solutes cannot pass through, thus achieving the separation of impurities and contaminants. In this way, purified water is separated and the waste water is discharged from the system.
The principle of reverse osmosis devices is similar to a screening process, where membranes with small pores allow only water molecules to pass through, while larger impurities are blocked.
